Established as a Joint Venture with Australian company on 8 October 1976, PT Bakrie Building Industries (BBI) is currently one of the pioneers of building materials manufacturers in Indonesia which delivers high quality building materials such as: fibre cement roofing, ceiling and partition, and also wood substitution products. Whole products of BBI has gained some quality and safety certification such as Standar Nasional Indonesia (SNI), ISO 9001:2008, ISO 14001:2004, OHSAS 18001:2007, even some products are recognized in Green Listing Indonesia directory and succesfully awarded with the prestigious award Top Brand 2015-2017.

 

BBI stood on a 15 hectares area at Daan Mogot, West Jakarta with a total of more than 1000 employees and a network of over 80 distributors and 12.000 loyal retailers. Driven by more than 30 years experiences, BBI has now earned the reputation of a trusted and credible company successfully gaining the satisfaction of local and international business partners.

 

Building a bridge into the future, BBI is now heading towards a new direction: to be a forefront solution company in innovation, energy efficiency and environmental protection. This involves the development of new innovative product with the base of environmental-friendly technology which are Green Technology, Green Product, & Green Building.

In order to achieve its current position as one of the nation's most recognized building materials manufacturer, BBI had been through a lot of changes. 1973

PT James Hardie Indonesia was established and became the prospective of future BBI. The company located at Kebayoran Lama, South Jakarta under the identity PT Harflex Asbes Semen.

 

1976

Due to the company’s growth with the initial production of sheet machine no. 1 that reach capacity up to 50.000 tonnes/year, the company decided to move to a more representative place at Jl. Daan Mogot KM. 17,3 Kalideres, West Jakarta.

 

1977

As the company continues growing, the pipe machine starts to produce and reach capacity of 40.000 tonnes/year.

 

1985

Bakrie & Brothers acquisitioned PT James Hardie Indonesia as a subsidiary of PT Bakrie & Brothers Tbk.

 

1986

Sheet machine no. 2 starts to produce with total production capacity up to 90.000 tonnes/year.

 

1988

The company became PT Jaya Harflex Indonesia with market spread all over the nation.

 

1990

The company expands its business by producing Architectural Concrete Panel (Arcon) to answer the market need of integrated service in high rise building development.

 

1991

Officialy changed its name to PT Bakrie Building Industries (BBI) as a subsidiary of PT Bakrie & Brothers Tbk.

 

1995

Sheet machine no. 3 starts to produce, which makes total production capacity reach the number 140.000 tonnes/year. The company also expands by starting to be involved in brick and marble business.

 

1997

BBI starts to produce Prefab Panel System as the proof of its commitment to continue innovate and provide total solution to customers.

 

2000

Achieving ISO 9001-2000 as an acknowledgement of the company's quality and commitment to provides best quality products.

 

2005

The company changed pipe machine to sheet machine no. 4 with total production up to 200.000 tonnes/year.

 

2007

The company introduced new product innovation in building material by launching Versaboard (Fibre Cement Calcium Silicate Board 100% Asbestos Free product).

 

2009

BBI continues strengthening its position as one of Indonesia’s biggest building material manufacturers by expanding into metal roofing business.

 

2010

The ability to maintain its high quality product has made the company once again achieved ISO 9001-2008.

 

2011

BBI is consolidating itself as one of the largest manufacturers of building materials in Indonesia with the addition of production capacity of 320,000 tons / year.

 

2013

Establishment of BBI's subsidiary company who performs trading and export - import, PT Bangun Bantala Indonesia

 

2015
- The addition of total production capacity of 350,000 tons / year
- Harflex awarded for Top Brand 2015 as the best fibre cement roofing in Indonesia
- BBI has certified ISO 14001:2004 and OHSAS 18001:2007
- Versa Board and Versa Wood have been officially registered in Green Listing Indonesia as the green material product.

 

2016

- Harflex awarded for Top Brand 2016 as the best fibre cement roofing in Indonesia for the second time

- Versa Wood awarded for Home Preferred Brand 2016 as the Best Wall System

 

2017

Harflex awarded for Top Brand 2017 as the best fibre cement roofing in Indonesia for the third time

Bobby Gafur S. Umar

President Commissioner

After obtaining his Bachelor in Electrical Engineering and his Master of Business Administration (MBA) from University of Arkansas, USA, he started his career in Bakrie Group as Assistant to Chairman in 1995. Other than Commissioner at BBI, he held position as Managing Director/ CEO Bakrie & Brothers, Tbk, and before, he had been the President Director (2002-2008), also Deputy President Commissioner (2008-2009) at Bakrie & Brothers.


R.A. Sri Dharmayanti

Commisioner

Other than Commissioner at BBI, she also has served as Director and Corporate Secretary of Bakrie & Brothers since June 2008. Currently she also serves as Vice President Legal, Human Resources and General 
Affairs at PT Bumi Resorces, Tbk. And Commissioner of PT Arutmin Indonesia and PT Kaltim Prima Coal. She holds Master Degree of Law from University of Indonesia.

Yogi Pratomo Widhiarto

Chief Executive Officer (CEO)

Graduated with Bachelor Degree in Electrical Engineering, he has had more than twenty years track record of hands-on experience in Information Technology, Telecommunication & Infrastructure Industries. Having  had the experience to work for the biggest governmental corporate in Indonesia, he started his career in Bakrie business group by joining PT Bakrie Indo Infrastructure in 2010 and was appointed as Chief Executive Officer (CEO) in BBI in 2012.


Jisman Hutasoit

Chief of Technology & Operation Officer

In 1991, he started his career at BBI. Graduated from Industrial Engineering at University of Sumatera Utara. He had experienced many trainings in management, such as TOM, Six Sigma, etc. Currently he became Chief of Technology & Operation Officer after previously held position as Production Manager.


Erti Sri Santi

Vice President Finance

Experienced more than 18 years in accounting and finance in various multinational companies in Indonesia. Starting her career in the Bakrie Group in 2008 in Bakrie Metal Industries. Having the MBA title from IPMI International Business School, she has served as Vice President Finance of BBI.


Yayan Primayanto Apandi

General Manager Commercial

Graduated as Bachelor in Industrial Engineering from Trisakti University and started his career at BBI in 1994 as Engineer and IMPAC Coordinator. He once held position as Counterpart at Booz Allen & Hamilton and had  accomplished many trainings in management. During the course of his career in BBI, he had filled many different positions in the Commercial Department and in 2011 he was appointed as General Manager Commercial.


Cipto Firmansyah

General Manager Business Development

Having a Bachelor degree in Chemical Engineering and Masters Degree in Finance Management from University of Indonesia, he started his career in BBI in 2003 and appointed as Senior Manager Business Development in 2010. Now, he serves as General Manager Business Development. In the period of his career, he had accomplished various trainings in business management and leadership.


Edwin Daniel

Senior Human Capital and General Affair Manager

After graduating from the major of Psychology at University of Padjajaran, he started his career in BBI in 2002 by joining as Personnel Admin Supervisor and was appointed as Human Capital and General Affair Manager in 2012. He had joined so many trainings in the field of employment, training management, compensation & benefit.


Erlangga Arfan

Senior IT & Supply Chain Manager

He started his career in IT and Supply Chain in 1999 and has had experience in many blue-chip companies in Indonesia. Graduated as Mechanical Engineering, University of Indonesia, and Master of Science in Supply
Chain Management, Chalmers Tekniska Högskola (Sweden) he has started a career in BBI in 2014.
