Established as a Joint Venture with Australian company on 8 October 1976, PT Bakrie Building Industries (BBI) is currently one of the pioneers of building materials manufacturers in Indonesia which delivers high quality building materials such as: fibre cement roofing, ceiling and partition, and also wood substitution products. Whole products of BBI has gained some quality and safety certification such as Standar Nasional Indonesia (SNI), ISO 9001:2008, even some products are recognized in Green Listing Indonesia directory and succesfully awarded with the prestigious award Top Brand 2015-2017 and 2019.


BBI located in West Jakarta area with nationally network allover Indonesia. Driven by more than 30 years experiences, BBI has now earned the reputation of a trusted and credible company successfully gaining the satisfaction of local and international business partners.

In order to achieve its current position as one of the nation's most recognized building materials manufacturer, BBI had been through a lot of changes. PT James Hardie Indonesia was established and became the prospective of future BBI. The company located at Kebayoran Lama, South Jakarta under the identity PT Harflex Asbes Semen.



Due to the company’s growth with the initial production of sheet machine no. 1 that reach capacity up to 50.000 tonnes/year, the company decided to move to a more representative place at Jl. Daan Mogot KM. 17,3 Kalideres, West Jakarta.



As the company continues growing, the pipe machine starts to produce and reach capacity of 40.000 tonnes/year.



Bakrie & Brothers acquisitioned PT James Hardie Indonesia as a subsidiary of PT Bakrie & Brothers Tbk.



Sheet machine no. 2 starts to produce with total production capacity up to 90.000 tonnes/year.



The company became PT Jaya Harflex Indonesia with market spread all over the nation.



The company expands its business by producing Architectural Concrete Panel (Arcon) to answer the market need of integrated service in high rise building development.



Officialy changed its name to PT Bakrie Building Industries (BBI) as a subsidiary of PT Bakrie & Brothers Tbk.



Sheet machine no. 3 starts to produce, which makes total production capacity reach the number 140.000 tonnes/year. The company also expands by starting to be involved in brick and marble business.



BBI starts to produce Prefab Panel System as the proof of its commitment to continue innovate and provide total solution to customers.



Achieving ISO 9001-2000 as an acknowledgement of the company's quality and commitment to provides best quality products.



The company changed pipe machine to sheet machine no. 4 with total production up to 200.000 tonnes/year.



The company introduced new product innovation in building material by launching Versaboard (Fibre Cement Calcium Silicate Board 100% Asbestos Free product).



BBI continues strengthening its position as one of Indonesia’s biggest building material manufacturers by expanding into metal roofing business.



The ability to maintain its high quality product has made the company once again achieved ISO 9001-2008.



BBI is consolidating itself as one of the largest manufacturers of building materials in Indonesia with the addition of production capacity of 320,000 tons / year.



Establishment of BBI's subsidiary company which concern on trading & distribution of local and import building materials, logistic, and also engineering & construction named PT Bangun Bantala Indonesia.

Bobby Gafur S. Umar

President Commissioner

After obtaining his Bachelor in Electrical Engineering and his Master of Business Administration (MBA) from University of Arkansas, USA, he started his career in Bakrie Group as Assistant to Chairman in 1995. Other than Commissioner at BBI, he held position as Managing Director/ CEO Bakrie & Brothers, Tbk, and before, he had been the President Director (2002-2008), also Deputy President Commissioner (2008-2009) at Bakrie & Brothers.

R.A. Sri Dharmayanti


Other than Commissioner at BBI, she also has served as Director and Corporate Secretary of Bakrie & Brothers since June 2008. Currently she also serves as Vice President Legal, Human Resources and General 
Affairs at PT Bumi Resorces, Tbk. And Commissioner of PT Arutmin Indonesia and PT Kaltim Prima Coal. She holds Master Degree of Law from University of Indonesia.

Indra Ginting

Chief Executive Officer (CEO)

Graduated with Bachelor Degree in Chemical Engineering from Bandung Technology Institute (ITB) in 1989, and continue his Master Degree majoring International Management in University of Indonesia in 1994. Before joining Bakrie Group, he served as Director of Investor Relations and Corporate Secretary, PT International Nickel Indonesia Tbk (now PT Vale Indonesia Tbk) for the period 2003 - 2011, as President Director and Principal Fund Manager, PT MLC Investment Indonesia, Jakarta for the period 1999 - 2003. He became part of the Group in 2011 as Chief Investor Relations Officer, and in 2013 he was appointed as Chief Strategic Business Development Officer, and currently serves as Chief Executive Officer at PT Bakrie Building Industries.

Toni Triyulianto

Chief Financial Officer

Graduated from State Accounting College (STAN) Jakarta, and Master of Public Policy Program majority of Finance & Budgeting at Michigan State University USA. He also had studied about Internal Control & Public Financial Accountability at University of Groningen The Netherlands on 2010, and 17 years experienced as auditor in Indonesia's National Government Internal Auditor (BPKP);  Auditor in Public Accountant Firm (KAP) Santoso Harsokusumo; and as accounting staff in Indonesian Embassy of Canberra Australia. He hold the CA & CPA (Australia) license started his career in Bakrie Group since 2014 as Tax & Accounting Manager at BBI, then served as Head of Internal Audit BNBR during 3 years. In August 2020 he has assigned as Chief Finance Officer (CFO) at BBI.

Erti Sri Santi


Experienced more than 18 years in accounting and finance in various multinational companies in Indonesia. Starting her career in the Bakrie Group in 2008 in Bakrie Metal Industries. Having the MBA title from IPMI International Business School, she served as Chief Finance Officer of BBI and now she has been delegated as Director of Corporate Affairs.

Rahmat Subarkah

General Manager Operation

Starting his career in BBI since 1997 as Production Planning Control (PPC) Officer, and now he has experience in building material production more than 20 years. He had participated in several trainings such as ISO 9002, ISO 14001:2004, OHSAS 18001:2007, and other production tranings. Graduate in Industrial Technique from Indonesian Islam University, he has appointed as General Manager Operation in BBI starting from 2018.

Erlangga Arfan

Senior Manager Logistics

He started his career in IT and Supply Chain in 1999 and has had experience in many blue-chip companies in Indonesia. Graduated as Mechanical Engineering, University of Indonesia, and Master of Science in Supply
Chain Management, Chalmers Tekniska Högskola (Sweden) he has started a career in BBI in 2014.

Mohamad Debiyarto Imran

Senior Manager Business Support & Internal Control

Graduated as Bachelor in Information Management from Gunadarma University, he had been joining with building material multinational company from Thailand. With his 17 years experiences in production & operational of manufacture, project management and quality assurance, he has been starting his career in BBI since 2015 to assist the CEO in management system development, and in 2018 he has appointed to be the member of management board.
